Here you will find informations about online mastering.

What is mastering ?

Aim of an master is that the audio quality of a song sounds everywhere same. We enhance the material that every soundsystem can play it in same quality.

Important is the stereobalance and a good mono compatibility.

What is M/S Mastering ?

M/S Mastering is editing middle and side signal. This happend in a special matrix where we can editing the signals seperate from each other.

It's possible to:

1. Editing singals form the middle like Vocals or Bass or other middle signals.

2. Editing the side contingent, to enlarge it or put the side contingent to the middle.

3. Editing all of the side contigent like reverb, crackle, noises or put instruments up that be to low in the mix.

This is reasonable, when:

1.A mix needs more deepth

2.If the middel or side signal to much or to little reverb.

3.The mix diffused with bad noises.

4.If you have the mix only as a stereo file.

5.Voice contigents needs editing.

6.Instruments are not present in the mix.

Was is "Red-Book-Standard" ?

The Red Book specifies the physical parameters and properties of the CD, the optical "stylus" parameters, deviations and error rate, modulation system (eight-to-fourteen modulation, EFM) and error correction (cross-interleaved Reed-Solomon coding, CIRC), and subcode channels and graphics.

It also specifies the form of digital audio encoding: 2-channel signed 16-bit Linear PCM sampled at 44,100 Hz. This sample rate is adapted from that attained when recording digital audio on a PAL (or NTSC) videotape with a PCM adaptor, an earlier way of storing digital audio.[7]

An audio CD can represent frequencies up to 22.05 kHz, the Nyquist frequency of the 44.1 kHz sample rate.

What is a DDP File ?

CD pressing plants can handle many different formats but in practice we have found that a DDP Image File proves the most reliable form of transfer to the plant (they convert all other formats to DDP images at the plant).

A DDP Image File is a set of files that contains the Audio, the Table of Contents and ISRC information. To this we add a MD5 checksum, a PQ Text File and a Read Me File. The Read Me File explains in more detail what all these files are and how best to use them.

The DDP Image File will either be shipped to you directly on a disc or can be downloaded from our secure server depending on your order.

Should you feel confident in producing your own CD Master without compromising audio quality, we can supply your Production Masters as .wav files.

What is an MD5 Checksum?

It is a binary file check that creates a 32 digit ‘checksum’. This is a value that any recipient of the DDP Image File can recreate or compare with to verify that the data has not been corrupted in any way.

What are PQ and ISRC?

The PQ is the data that creates the flags to mark the start and end of each track and the Table of Contents on the CD.

ISRC is the International Standard Recording Code which is a unique identifier for every track ever released.
